Sodapop Curtis
Steve Randle- Sodapop's best buddy. The two work at DX Gas Station (Sodapop full time and Steve part time) and Soda is the only reason why Ponyboy and Steve don't get along.
Darrell Curtis- Second closest brothers in the book and Soda seems to be the only person who can understand Dally.
Ponyboy- The only person Ponboy speaks his mind with. The two Curtis brothers are the closest among all the close duos in the book and simply can't live with each other. Being the older one Soda is not only a close brother, but Ponyboy's best buddy and maybe even a guardian since Soda takes care of Ponyboy quite a lot.
Dally Winston and Johnny Cade and Two-Bit- Being the most social character in the book Soda is close to the three boys since they are all part of the same gang. However, Soda isn't as close to Dally, Johnny, and Two-Bit as much as he is to his brothers and Steve.
Sandy- Sandy left Soda to Florida and the former lovers are no longer in a good relationship
Soda is a happy-go-lucky 16-year old who swimply gets along with everyone. He certainly has a great sense of humor (not as much as Two-Bit) and seems to understand any type of person from doleful people to sensitive people. He can get drunk dancing, drag racing, and any other sort of fun without touching even a drop of alcohol. In other words, he gets drunk from plain living. Despite his cheerful and sociable personality, he also gets hurt easily and cries more than any of his brothers. Sodapop reflects an emotional teenager, while having a strong sense of humor and ability to get along with everyone he meets.

Soda simply gets along with everyone and his "tuff" looks increase his popularity. He isn't only in a good relationship with all the characters he is close to (except Sandy) but he gets along fine with anyone such as customers in DX Gas Station.
